Viv & joe is a UK based children’s clothing label, creating beautiful timeless clothing for babies and children.

Founded by designer Sophia Scanu whilst on maternity leave with her first daughter Vivienne in 2013. Sophia set about designing and making clothing she wanted for her daughter but struggled to find elsewhere. Starting out on her kitchen table in her East London flat hand making baby shoes and accessories, within 3 months of launching she was offered a stall at London’s most fashionable market; Broadway Market in Hackney London. From there her business flurished and with the arrival of her second daughter Rita she decided to expand into baby and children’s clothing.

Inspired by her two daughters Sophia designs classic shapes with a modern twist, she believes childrens clothes should last longer than one season so uses good quality natural fabrics such as cottons and linens and creates garments that are designed to be grown into and handed down to younger siblings. Recently moving to Norfolk, Sophia has added Norfolk Knits to her range, beautifully handed knitted clothes made by a team of local knitters using vintage knitting patterns and natural yarns such as cottons and cashmerino.

Viv & Joe is available both online and at their weekly stall every Saturday at Broadway Market.
